Amendment 6 | Cyber Security and Resilience (Network and Information Systems) Bill – Report | Lords debates

My Lords, I will speak briefly in support of all the amendments in the name of my noble friend Lady Harding in this group, to which I have added my name.

There are many things that are in short supply when somebody finds themselves on the end of a cyber attack. But surely one of them is clarity, and that is something the Bill can address, as the first block of amendments in the name of my noble friend does. I ask the Minister to reconsider many of the issues set out in those amendments, to potentially bring forward other elements at Third Reading to further clarify the procedures within the Bill and to make the Bill even sharper while we still have this somewhat unique opportunity. Clarity and learning are at the heart of all the amendments in this group; I look forward to the Minister’s reflections.
